Santa Elena has a history deeply tied to the silletera tradition<\/strong>, a custom dating back over 150 years. Silleteros<\/em> are farmers who create and transport elaborate floral arrangements on silletas<\/em> (large wooden frames carried on their backs), a practice that originated as a way to carry flowers and other products to market.<\/p>\n
